Advanced Facial Treatments
Quality skincare products are essential for maintaining healthy skin. However, advanced facial treatments are designed to improve skin appearance and rejuvenate collagen and elastin production. Advanced facial treatments like microneedling, HydraFacial, and chemical peels have amazing benefits in terms of reducing the appearance of lines and wrinkles, acne scarring, enlarged pores, rough skin texture, uneven skin tone, sun damage, pigmentation, and other skin blemishes and imperfections. The result? Radiant, healthy, youthful-looking skin that exudes confidence. Here at RPS-Warner Robins, we specialize in the latest non-surgical medical-grade services to renew and restore your skin. Our services are provided in our medical office and performed by State Licensed Medical Aesthetician, Brittany Hall.
Don’t know where to start on your skincare journey? No worries! We offer complimentary consultations and can provide you with a comprehensive plan to reach your skincare goals.
Microneedling
Type of treatment: Minimally invasive, non-surgical, in-office treatment performed by State-Licensed Medical Aesthetician, Brittany Hall.
Treatment duration: 45 minutes
How it works: We use the first FDA-cleared microneedling device, SkinPen. This device contains very thin, sterile needles and is applied to the skin to create microscopic injuries. This triggers the skin’s natural healing response and prompts the skin to make more collagen – the essential protein that gives the skin its softness, smoothness, firmness, and youthful appearance.
Problems addressed: Fine lines, wrinkles, acne scars, enlarged pores, uneven tone, rough texture, age spots and sunspots on the face; stretch marks on the abdomen and thighs.
Does it hurt? – Most people tolerate microneedling well without a great deal of discomfort. We offer topical anesthetic (numbing cream) to keep you comfortable.
Downtime and Recovery: You can drive yourself home after the appointment and resume all routine activities the same day. Your skin may appear mildly red for a day or two after microneedling. You can wear makeup to camouflage any minor redness.
Aftercare: You will need to wear sunscreen diligently because your skin will be more sensitive after a microneedling treatment.
Side Effects: There can be mild redness, and your skin might feel raw for 1-2 days after your microneedling appointment.
Complications: There is a small risk of complications like infection, bleeding, and skin peeling, but these are rare.
Results: Microneedling results are usually seen 1-2 weeks after the treatment. There is continued improvement in the appearance of the skin in the following weeks as it makes new collagen. The results are long-lasting but not permanent because microneedling does not stop the aging process. Therefore, as your skin ages, the effects can fade. Repeat treatments can help to maintain the results.
Number of treatments: Most people require multiple microneedling sessions to get the desired results. The exact number of microneedling treatments depends on your skin condition and desired results. We will develop a customized treatment plan for you and give you an estimate of the number of sessions required after seeing you in an initial consultation.
HydraFacial
Type of treatment: Hydrafacial combines two highly effective skincare treatments – microdermabrasion and chemical peels.
Treatment duration: 30 – 45 minutes
How it works: A HydraFacial treatment is done using a special hydra-dermabrasion device. It is gentler on the skin than a traditional dermabrasion tool. The HydraFacial tool gently cleanses the skin by suctioning out debris from clogged pores. It also pushes powerful hydrating and nourishing serums deep inside the skin.
Problems addressed: HydraFacial is an effective treatment for skin concerns such as fine lines, brown spots, uneven texture, enlarged pores, and dry skin. A HydraFacial can be customized to your unique needs by choosing different serums for acne treatment, dull complexion, fine lines, dry skin, etc.
Does it hurt? – Not at all. In fact, a HydraFacial is a relaxing, spa-like experience that feels like a gentle massage.
Downtime: None.
Recovery and Aftercare: There’s no special aftercare needed other than avoiding exfoliation for a few days to allow your skin to rest. It’s also a good idea to avoid applying makeup until the next day. We may give you a specific skincare kit to use between HydraFacial treatments for even better results.
Side Effects: None. HydraFacial does not cause redness or skin irritation. You can book your HydraFacial appointment just before a big event for a lovely glow on your face!
Complications: None.
Results: Radiant skin with a healthy glow.
Number of treatments: The effects of a HydraFacial are longer lasting than a regular facial. Most people do great with HydraFacials every 4-6 weeks.
Chemical peels
Type of treatment: Non-invasive, in-office cosmetic treatment, mainly for the face, but can also be done on the neck and hands.
Treatment duration: 30 minutes
How it works: The treatment involves painting the skin with precise amounts of enzymes and acids to gently exfoliate and resurface the skin. The chemicals remove dead cells and debris from the skin’s surface, revealing healthy, radiant skin underneath. Chemical peels can be light, medium, or deep, depending on the type of acid used, the amount of exfoliation, and the depth of skin penetration.
Problems addressed: Chemical peels can address visible imperfections such as fine lines, wrinkles, acne, uneven tone, rough texture, sun damage, pigmentation, and mild acne scarring.
Does it hurt? – Some tingling or mild skin irritation is common when the chemical is applied. A hand-held fan can help to reduce discomfort.
Downtime: 4-5 days after light chemical peels, 5-7 days after medium chemical peels, and up to 2 weeks after a deep chemical peel.
Recovery and Aftercare: There can be some lingering redness for 1-2 weeks after your chemical peel. This can be camouflaged with makeup.
Side Effects: Mild redness and discomfort after mild chemical peels – this is usually manageable with cold compresses. There can be peeling and flaking of the skin after a medium chemical peel, lasting for up to a week. You can expect significant redness, swelling, and peeling after a deep chemical peel, lasting for up to 2 weeks.
Complications: Rare, but can include infection, scarring, and permanent pigmentation changes (the risk is higher in people with darker skin tones).
Results: A light chemical peel can subtly improve the appearance of your skin, leaving you with a healthy glow. The results increase with repeated treatments. After a medium chemical peel, your skin will look noticeably smoother and your complexion significantly brighter. Deep chemical peels produce the most dramatic results.
Number of treatments: Most people need a series of 4-6 light chemical peels. Medium chemical peels are offered in packages of 3 – 6, spaced out every 4 weeks. Deep chemical peels are performed every 2-3 years.
